Torticollis, popularly known as curved neck, has many types, but in the muscle-induced type, it occurs as a result of the SKM muscle on both sides of the neck remaining short and tense.
It can be diagnosed within 6-8 weeks after birth and may have many causes.
Birth trauma
Abnormal intrauterine position
Absence of part of the cervical vertebrae
It is caused by reasons such as imbalance of the eye muscles
If it is noticed immediately after birth, it can be corrected with the correct exercise planning under the control of a physiotherapist in a period of 6 months. Consult your physiotherapist for manual active stretches, correct positioning of the baby and all other information about the treatment.
